EuroAirport cargo community celebrates IATA CEIV Pharma certification received in a joint approach

At a customer event which took place on 30 October 2018 at the EuroAirport Cargo Terminal in presence of Glyn Hughes, Global Head of Cargo IATA, management representatives of the four airfreight stakeholders Fiege, Fischer Road Cargo, Swissport and Swiss WorldCargo joined EuroAirport management to celebrate having received IATA CEIV Pharma certification based on a community approach. During the event, EuroAirport was proud to receive a certificate of recognition for its valuable support, endorsement and contribution as an IATA CEIV Pharma Partner Airport.

Situated at the crossroads of Switzerland, France and Germany, EuroAirport is now the first Airport Authority to be certified IATA CEIV Pharma within a community approach in France and Switzerland.

Committed to meeting the high-quality requirements of the local pharmaceutical industry in the surrounding three-country area, Fiege, Fischer Road Cargo, Swissport and Swiss WorldCargo together with EuroAirport Cargo management decided at the end of 2015 to join forces and implement the IATA CEIV Pharma certification program* individually and at collective level.

Over the last few years, all program participants have worked closely together to fine tune and align stakeholder interfaces. Their joint objective was to ensure as a community the delivery of high quality standards in the transport, storage and handling of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products at the EuroAirport Cargo Terminal site.

In addition, it reinforces the airport’s position as a reliable partner for the rapid, consistent and efficient storage, handling and transportation of pharmaceutical products in full respect of stringent cold chain requirements.

Thanks to its 21,000m2 state-of-the-art Cargo Terminal offering constant temperature control, real-time temperature monitoring as well as fast and efficient processing, EuroAirport is able to meet fully the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry in the trinational region as a whole and in particular the needs of companies based in Basel, home to the world’s highest density of successful life science companies.
